RDAs Partner to Drive Dubbo-Newcastle Corridor Upgrades

RDA Orana and Regional Development Australia (RDA) Hunter was pleased to bring together a new Transport Taskforce yesterday, meeting for the first time in Maitland, to advocate for investment in the Golden Highway, one of Australia’s most important freight corridors.

Convened by RDA Orana and RDA Hunter and supported by Minister for Roads and Regional Transport The Hon. Jenny Aitchison MP, the Taskforce united leaders from local government, EnergyCo and Transport for NSW to drive road and rail upgrades along the Dubbo–Newcastle corridor.

With freight volumes set to rise 150% over the next decade, the Golden Highway urgently needs investment to improve safety, reliability and productivity.

The Taskforce marks the start of a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity to strengthen transport links across the Hunter and Orana regions.
