ME Project

The ME project encourages career pathways by developing a school curriculum for years 9-12 for schools to provide the maths, science and technical studies students will need to pursue careers in the defence sector; 4 schools partnered with four large engineering companies; 35 teachers, 400 students including 50 who will have work experience.

AEOP

The Aboriginal Employment Opportunities Program (AEOP) is an initiative of RDA – Hunter and has placed 211 local Aboriginal people in employment in some of the key skills shortage areas in this region including aged care, manufacturing, child care and retail sectors. An additional 197 Aboriginal people were successful in gaining training placements.

AEOP was established in September 2008 as a Federal and NSW Government initiative to create sustainable employment pathways for Indigenous people of the region and will be completed on 30 June 2010 with results exceeding initial targets.
